The total income of the basic medical insurance fund is about 910 billion yuan, and the total expenditure is about 557.7 billion yuan. The overall operation of the fund is stable.
According to data released by the National Medical Insurance Administration, from January to March 2023, the total income of the basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) was 910.048 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. Among them, the income of basic medical insurance funds for employees (including maternity insurance) was 565.307 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.0%; the income of basic medical insurance funds for urban and rural residents was 344.741 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%.
The total expenditure of the basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) was 557.745 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.7%. The basic medical insurance fund (including maternity insurance) expenditure for employees was 358.521 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%. The maternity insurance fund benefit expenditure was 24.76 billion yuan. The basic medical insurance fund expenditure for urban and rural residents was 199.225 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.0%.
